August has started off and everyone here in town is busy as can be! School started this week and it seems like people are still trying to finish up the remaining errands and fall into a new routine. Things are no different here at Love Letters Photography. We have some new things and changes to work around and I wanted to keep everyone in the loop!
First, I will be taking most of August off. Tomorrow I am having surgery to repair carpal tunnel. I’m very excited about getting this fixed and being able to feel my fingers again! However, since it is my right hand, I will be out of commission for work on the computer or camera for a bit. I’ve planned to take all of August to recover and reorganize. It will be quiet around here, but know I am working behind the scenes! There are a few blog posts written that are scheduled to publish throughout the month and I will check in occasionally on social media, but I will be focusing on my recovery for a bit.
Secondly, we will be starting homeschooling here! I’m very excited to start this new adventure with my little guy. I’ve taken weeks and months to research curriculum and prepare to create a wonderful Kindergarten year for my oldest. There are so many amazing resources available as well as many amazing curriculum to choose from. After much prayer and research and digging and talking to many amazing people, we have chosen to use My Father’s World for Kindergarten. It is going to be a year full of great discovery and learning!
When I get back in September things get busy around here! Fairs and festivals kick off and we plan for our two months of perfect weather here in SE Arizona! Things to put on your schedule for September include the Sonoita Rodeo (which this year starts in August), the Santa Cruz County Fair, and the Cochise County Fair. Immediately after that, I will be headed to Las Cruces, NM where I am the official photographer for the Miss Turquoise Circuit pageant. We will get to enjoy the Southern New Mexico State Fair and the Turquoise Circuit Finals. That is also the same weekend as Art in the Park and the Rex Allen Days Rodeo. I know there is even more to choose from this time of year and I hope that you and yours will take this opportunity to get out and create some amazing family memories (remember to take and print pictures from your adventures!).
Christmas Mini Sessions are almost completely full! For more information about those, please check out the blog explaining what a mini session is and how it will work this year! Right now we have one slot left in September (to take advantage of the green vegetation while it lasts!) and then two slots in November. Please contact the office quickly if you want to be part of this year’s mini sessions!
Whew! I think I covered it all. I cannot possibly express how much I appreciate all of you who come and read the blog, check out the pictures, and those who trust me to capture their images. I absolutely love my job and I am so thankful for each and every one of you!
Finally, what is a blog without a picture? I always love to see a husband and wife (who have been promoted to also be mom & dad) who still love to smooch!
